Felicia "The Housing GURU" Jackson

 

Felicia Jackson brings over 15 years of public administration and nonprofit executive management experience to her role as Executive Director of the Alabama Rural Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. (ARCH). Felicia joined ARCH in 2008, following previous professional work with the Alabama Legislature and a top-tier Lobbying Firm. 

 

Through innovative training, resources, and technical support, Felicia empowers rural community partners in their vital work at the local and regional level educating service providers on how to efficiently work with individuals and families who are homeless or at - risk of homelessness through resource development and collaborative partnerships. 

 

Felicia has deep expertise in the HUD Continuum of Care process, FEMA Disaster Case Management, Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery, Rapid Rehousing, Emergency Solutions Grant (Standard and CARES Act) Programs, Permanent Supportive Housing, Emergency Housing Vouchers, Affordable Housing, Community Development, and Veteran Housing, as well as a strong track record of developing successful collaborations among government, housing developers, private sector, nonprofit, and community partners. 

As the "homelessness services and housing resources" gatekeeper for 42 counties in Alabama, Felicia has provided administrative and fiscal management for over 46 million dollars in federal funds. Under her strong acumen for organization operations, executive leadership, and passion for supporting community-led solutions, ARCH received a sizable private financial gift in 2021, recognizing their compassionate, needle-moving work to provide shelter and hunger support to address the immediate needs of families. 

 

In addition, to her leadership role at ARCH, Felicia is President of a Veteran housing facility for homeless veterans who suffer from co-occurring substance use and mental health issues. She also serves as a Trustee for The University of Alabama Culverhouse College of Business Alabama Center for Real Estate and as a member of the Alabama Women's Affordable Housing Network. In addition, she previously served as the Alabama appointee of the Federal Home Loan Bank - Atlanta Housing Advisory Council. 

 

Felicia is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and her educational studies include degrees in Communications and Public Administration and numerous housing industry-specific certifications. Felicia is married, and they are the parents of two sets of twins.
