Emergency Solutions Grant Overview

The Emergency Solution Grant (ESG) Program assists people to quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis and/or homelessness. The annual competition for State ESG funds is facilitated by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).  Recipients can use ESG funds to provide: Emergency Shelter, Street Outreach, Rapid Re-housing, and Homelessness Prevention activities in their communities.

Information for New ESG Subrecipients

After successfully securing a contract with ADECA for ESG, you can initiate the onboarding process with ARCH. To get started, please send an email to info@archconnection.org, notifying us about the executed contract and your readiness to commence ARCH's onboarding procedure. We will guide you through each step of the process. For future reference and easy access, we have provided the following documents and a video that will be utilized during the onboarding process:

ESG FY23 Applicants within the AL BoS CoC

The following stakeholders of the AL BoS CoC requested a Letter of Support for their FY23 ESG Applications. A copy of the Letter of Support was provided to the CoC Stakeholder, and another copy was sent directly to ADECA (Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs).

1. Bethesda House of Mercy (DV) (Covington County)

2. Dallas County Family Resource Center (Dallas County)

3. HEARTS of Cleburne (Cleburne County) 

4. Marshall County Home Place (Marshall County)

5. The Link of Cullman County (Cullman County)

ESG FY22 Applicants within the AL BoS CoC

The following stakeholders of the AL BoS CoC requested a Letter of Support for their FY22 ESG Applications. A copy of the Letter of Support was provided to the CoC Stakeholder, and another copy was sent directly to ADECA (Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs). 

1. Marshall County Home Place (Marshall County) - AWARDED $31,500 to provide emergency shelter in Marshall County.

2. The Link of Cullman County (Cullman County) - AWARDED $250,000 to provide emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, street outreach and rapid re-housing for victims in Cullman County.
